How apt it was when CBC screened a documentary about gold few days ago, after gold prices tumbled. Although it is rife with conspiracy theories, there must be more or less something brewing in the background for this documentary to be made. Below is the summary of the documentary. I have also embedded the videos in this [...]
I read about CNBC’s report “The World’s Biggest Gold Reserves“.
It was reported that “The biggest individual holders of gold—central banks, international entities and governments—are believed to account for approximately 16.5 percent of the world’s gold, holding about 30,160 tons.” CNBC in turn got the figures from World Gold Council.
I was pretty surprised by some of the [...]

Before I share my experience, I would like to explain my objective of buying Silver.
Why did I buy Silver?

The most precious form of gold is the bars and they come in different weight and size. Gold is measured in troy-ounces even though it is stated conveniently as ounce (oz). It is important to know that one troy-ounce is not equivalent to one ounce. The most standard weight for a gold bar is 400 troy-ounces and [...]
The most famous Silver ETF is the iShares Silver Trust (SLV) which is listed in the American Stock Exchange. Silver ETFs are supposed to pool the money from investors and buy an equivalent amount of silver to back the fund. Silver ETF is one of the easiest method to buy silver since the ETF is traded [...]
Remember commodities were rather hot during the bull run in 2007? Many banks and fund management companies began to introduce new commodities fund to feed the desperate demands in Singapore. Many people who bought commodities at that time would have suffered a great loss as the commodities dived with the stock prices during the crash.
