Money is not everything, but you need it to stay alive
Money cannot buy intangible things. Often enough, intangible things like love and respect are what many people desire. However, we still need food, water, shelter, clothes, etc to stay alive and these have to be paid by money. You need to earn enough to live. Here is the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs:
You can see that money basically builds the first 2 layers of the pyramid. Without these foundation layers, you cannot construct the rest of the pyramid and enjoy a fulfilling life.
A Sense of Security
Don’t you feel secure having a sum of money in your bank? Knowing that there is an emergency resource that can be used to solve problems does give you a peace of mind. The truth is you cannot stop worrying about money when you have lack of it. Thus, build a healthy sum of savings to relieve your worry, so that you can focus on other things in life – build relationship, improve self esteem and realize your potential. By looking at this perspective and maintaining this relationship with money, I hope you can save and live in harmony with money.
