Living a Life of Abundance

A new tagline
A new tagline

If you have been a loyal reader, you would have noticed that the tagline of BigFatPurse has been changed!

Previously, it was known as “Solutions for a lean purse”, and now it has been changed to “Living a life of abundance”. There is a little story leading to this…

The old tagline was inspired by “The Richest Man in Babylon“, where it proposed the “seven remedies for a lean purse”. I loved the simplicity of the story and you can see the influence it had over the name of this site as well as its tagline.

As I learned more about money, I discovered there is much more to learn than money itself. It became a self discovery journey for me. I always wanted to know and understand how to earn more money passively. The most appropriate way for me is to invest my money properly. I picked up knowledge and techniques of investing for a while but it was not sufficient to be truly successful.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” first opened my mind to the law of attraction and how my mindset about money control my behavior towards it. I began to study the subject and learned that by developing my inner world, I can effect my reality. It was an eye-opener.

There is something very beautiful in the law of attraction, which is abundance – A person being rich will not make another person worse off! If everyone believes in this, there will not be jealousy in this world and we will be more willing to give. The world will indeed be in peace and harmony. Abundance is good :)

After getting some insights about law of attraction, I asked myself alot of questions. Questions that may sound very spiritual to most – “What is the purpose of my life?” or “What do I want to do in my life?” I began to be awaken to the fact that money cannot be the priority even though it is an important matter in our lives. If you cannot control money, money will control you. Hence, I asked myself, “what would I want to do if I have $10 million dollars now”. This question eliminated the money factor that we put into most our decisions in life. I realized money do not take precedence anymore. Living a fruitful and enjoyable life is key to true happiness – not having loads of money.

That being said, I do not mean to bring down the importance of money. I still want to make money passively to free myself from its control. But the focus will be to live without worries and find true happiness in life.

In a nutshell, “Solutions for a lean purse” only deals with money. “Living a life of abundance” is a more encompassing tagline. It tells us to live a life of joy and happiness, we need abundance in every area – wealth, health, relations, spirituality and mental challenges. With that, I would like to share with you my discovery to abundance.

P.S. – It does not make me worse off by sharing with you. You deserve abundance too!
