There have been many investment courses appearing in advertisements lately and gaining a lot of exposure. Are these courses useful? I would like to quote Derek Bok (again) – “If education is expensive, try ignorance.” One should try to invest in yourself so as to be better prepared and increase your chance of winning in the market. I have spotted the following courses and wrote some brief notes on them. Some of them have preview sessions for you to find out more about their courses. Please note that this is not a recommendation list (I do not receive any $$ from them) and they are not arranged in order of merit.

A trend following stock picking system that relies on technical indicators and analysis. Founder and instructor, Keane Lee, is a self-made multi-millionaire through his own investment system. He appeared in many local papers and media, providing his insights in investment and the economy. They have free previews held regularly so do check out their website for the dates.
An option trading course that aims to educate retail investors to self-direct their investment. The founder is Dr Clemen Chiang who is a regular contributor to Business Times and appeared in many local and international media like CNBC. Wealth Academy Investor
A few courses are offered by two trainers, Adam Khoo and Conrad Alvin Lim. Adam Khoo is a self-made millionaire by the age of 26 and has founded the Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group, offering many training programs. Conrad Alvin Lim is a full time trader trading in the US market and has developed his very own trading system known as 5 Days Pre Earning Game. They have also co-wrote a book titled, “Secrets of Millionaire Investors“.

Forex Course by Nicholas Tan
Nicholas Tan offers 3 courses, basic Forex, advanced Forex and Contract for Difference (CFD) trading. He has worked as a forex trader in major banks and has 18 years of experience. He has also written a best selling book, “Handbook on Forex Trading“.

Specialized in trading E mini contracts. E mini is defined in their webpage as “the E Minis are US stock indexes such as the S&P 500, Dow Jones and NASDAQ. They are traded electronically using a trading platform on your computer.”
Mr Kishore is a successful trader and a hedge fund manager. He also authored the book, “Retire Rich in 30 Days”. The company provides many courses from Forex to real estate investment.
A group of 5 experienced FX traders aims to impart FX trading skills to newbies within one day.
As its name suggests, they teach option trading. Optionetics is a well known international company educating investors worldwide.
