I just discovered another free resource for investment education!

MorningStar
MorningStar

Morningstar is one of the most reputable mutual fund performance trackers and analysts in the United States. Thus, you can trust what they teach!

They offer 4 courses
1) Stocks – 5 levels
2) Funds – 5 levels
3) Bonds – 2 levels
4) Portfolio – 5 levels

In return for their free course, you would need to register to their website. They will offer you many newsletters and freebies but you can reject them, no obligations.

In each level (100, 200, 300, 400 and 500), there are several short lessons for you to complete – see screenshot:

After each lesson, they will test your concept and understanding. You will get credits for getting correct answers in the quizzes. These credits can be exchanged for 60 days free access to Morningstar premium membership – over 3,800 stock and fund analyst reports, fund analyst picks and stock buy and sell recommendations. For US residents, you can even redeem morningstar books like “The five rules for successful stock investing”!

They adopt fundamental analysis for stocks where you learn how to read financial statements and invest for the long term.

Even if you are more than qualified than a newbie, you can just take their quizzes and see how you score. It’s fun! I tried it! Let’s go here.
