Actually, I have no choice. A car is a necessity for me to get around Singapore because I cannot be late for client meetings and I carry a lot of stuff with me. When it rains, it pours and no taxis will be available (although that may change now given the price hikes).

Buses and MRT’s are not alternatives because they are too far away from the destinations I need to be.

If I just worked at an office though, yes, it would be ridiculous to have a car. Which brings me to the cost that you have not included in your SUPER DETAILED LIST and MOST HELPFUL post for new car buyers: Parking Coupons!!!!!

You have HDB Parking, but not the cost of parking, esp in CBD area which can cost $50/day!
